Under the able leadership of Mr. Vincy Quadros, All India Konkani Writers' Organisation had organised 2nd AIKWO Sammelan at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao Goa, India on 26th Oct. 2014.
A Welcome song composed by senior Konkani poet Mrs. Guadalupe Dias was presented by Mr. Elick Vaz and his group. Music was provided by Mr. Elick Vaz himself. Eminent journalist and writer Mr. Sandesh Prabhudessai inaugurated the convention. In the beginning AKWO Vice President (Goa) Mr. Jose Salvador Fernandes welcomed the gathering followed by Act of Inaugural. Act of Inaugural was enacted by completing the logo of organisation and lighting of the traditional lamp. AIKWO Executive member Mr. Marcos Gonsalves proposed vote of thanks. Other mebers on the dais were AIKWO President Mr. Vincy Quadros, Vice President (Mumbai) Mr. Ancy D' Souza Paladka, Vice President (Karnataka) Mr. Vally Vagga and Secretary Dr. Edward Nazareth. Mr. Vincy Quadros presided and AIKWO Executive Member Mr. Walter Menezes compered the inaugural function.
First paper was read on 'Konkanni Bhaxechi Dixa ani Doxa' by Jose Lourenco, Vice President of Konkani Bhasha Mandal. It was chaired by Editor of Gulab magazine Mr. Fausto V. Da Costa. Ms Selza Lopes, AIKWO Executive Member compered and proposed vote of thanks.
Second paper was read on 'Kanada Lipintlea Konknni Sahityachi Bholaiki ani Fuddar' by Dr. Edward Nazareth, General Secretary of AIKWO. It was chaired by AIKWO Vice President (Mumbai) Mr. Ancy D'Souza, Paladka. Teacher and Konkani Writer Mr. Vassalo Carvalho compered and proposed vote of thanks.
In the afternoon, a cultural programme was organised, in which Jack de Vasco, P. Agnel, Goergie Dias, Roshan Dias, Elick Vaz, Alvaro Gomes, Preeti Lopes and Jaison Sequeira presented their beautiful songs while Christopher D'Souza was applauded for his monologue. Elick Vaz provided the music. AIKWO Executive member Mr. Alvaro Gomes compered and proposed vote of thanks.
A CD composed by Mr. Anthony Miranda was released at the hands of Editor of Amcho Avaz, Mr. Tomazinho Cardozo in the presence of AIKWO President Mr. Vincy Quadros.
Then, "Hanv Konknni Global Survey" Questionaire was released at the hands of Chief Guest of concluding function Prof. Newman Fernandes. Those present on the dais were AIKWO President |Mr. Vincy Quadros, President of Jagotik Songhotton, Mr. Tomazinho Cardozo and JKS Secretary General, Mr. Eric Ozario.
Later in the evening Literary awards were presented at the hands of Prof. Newman Fernandes to Mr. Willy Goes, Fr. Eusebio Gomes and Mr. Pio Fernandes in Roman script and Mr. Arun Raj Rodrigues, Mr. Andrew D'Cunha and Stan Ageira in Kanada script.
AIKWO Vice President (Karnatak) Vally Vagga welcomed the gathering and award winners while Secretary Dr. Edward Nazareth reviewed the entire convention and proposed vote of thanks President Mr. Vincy Quadros presided. Other members present on the dais were Vice President (Goa) Mr. Jose Salvador Fernandes and Vice President (Mumbai) Mr. Ancy D' Souza Paladka. Associatte Secretary of AIKWO Mrs. Guadalupe Dias compered the function.
